Welcome to the PixiePre Wiki

The PixiePre is the pre-release version of the PixiePro. It is very similar to the PixiePro, but it has a few minor changes. This wiki will be kept in here as a reference for those lucky people that got their hands in one of the PixiePre boards. However, this wiki is not expected to grow a lot in the future.

The PixiePre is a micro-embedded machine small enough to hold in your palm, yet powerful enough to perform as a server. With up to quad ARM® Cortex™-A9 cores running at 1.0 GHz, plus 2D and 3D GPUs and an embedded 2GB 64-bit DDR3 RAM, the PixieBoard is capable of running rich multimedia applications, embedded web servers, digital entertainment systems, industrial control systems, high definition video and anything you can imagine.

With ready-to-go state of the art wireless interfaces, the PixieBoard offers the highest available throughput. It offers both a high bandwidth WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth® 2.1 + EDR/BLE (BT4.0) interfaces to enable any connectivity scenario you encounter. With the PixieBoard, streaming and wireless connectivity will never be an issue.

At only 2.25” by 3.2”, the PixieBoard easily gets you connected wirelessly or through the smallest, yet most resilient connectors. It includes 1 USB Type-A port and 1 micro USB port (OTG), 1 micro HDMI output, 2 micro SD slots and a 3.5mm line out / mini TOSLINK® optical port. If that wasn’t enough, it also provides an Ethernet port, RGB interface, PCIe port, SATA port and multiple serial ports in a board-to-board connector so you can create your own daughter card to get your PixieBoard even farther.

The PixieBoard was conceived to be a powerful computing machine with enough integrated peripherals to accommodate most applications, but without any of the extra clutter found in common reference platforms.
