Copying files between PixiePro and another device

SFTP

SFTP means SSH File Transfer Protocol (Secured). It provides a secured connection while transferring files from one host to an other. By using SFTP you can easily change, browse and edit files on PixiePro.

  • PixiePro has the sshd service enabled by default. If you wish to disable OpenSSH service, issue the following command:
    $ sudo systemctl disable sshd

You can access your files with the sftp program like FileZilla

SCP

Secure copy or SCP allows secure transferring of files between a local host and a remote host or between two remote hosts. It uses the same authentication and security as the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol from which it is based.

  • To copy a file from PixiePro to another computer with scp, go to a command-line and type:
    $ scp <file> <username>@<IP address or hostname>:<Destination>
  • To copy a file from computer to PixiePro with scp, go to a command-line and type:
    $ scp <username>@<IP address>:/remote/directory/ /local/directory/
